Harnessing the power of CREATIVITY and CULTURAL INTERACTION to drive lasting CHANGE.

A RARE BREED is a series written in collaboration with SLOW FOOD, a global organisation that works towards a world where all people can have access to food that is beneficial for those who eat it, those who grow it and for the sustainability of the planet.

Demonstrating this ethos, Louise Leverett travelled with some of the world’s leading practitioners in ENDANGERED FOOD and HERITAGE. The series examines the CULTURE behind the PRODUCE, the SOCIAL and ENVIRONMENTAL issues they face, and what it takes to keep these HERITAGES alive.

These written works have been inspired by our connection to the earth; there is a need to act in preserving this culture for future generations with the aim to protect biodiversity, stimulate both thinking and solutions-based ideas and raise awareness towards vulnerable communities.

By examining both the CREATIVITY and KNOWLEDGE of our planet’s potential, we can strive towards a more BEAUTIFUL, DESIRABLE and SUSTAINABLE future.
